A showcase for the fiber arts of the Wet Mountain Weavers! The annual event runs for five days over Labor Day weekend, Wednesday through Sunday, 10AM-5PM each day at Greenstone Artworks, 100 West Main Street in Westcliffe, CO. Handmade items that are woven, knitted, crocheted, felted, beaded, sewn or use various other handmade techniques are available for purchase. We’ll have an amazing selection of shawls, scarves, table runners, rugs, baskets, etc., all beautiful and elegant including soft and adorable little baby things. Weaving and spinning demonstrations are ongoing throughout the show. Register in a free drawing for a beautiful handmade item just for stopping in. Come and enjoy this annual ritual!

Come enjoy an incredible display of classic, antique, vintage, rat rod, and hot rod cars along Main Street in Westcliffe — all set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Join fellow car enthusiasts in exploring our charming rural mountain town. Don’t forget to cast your vote for your favorite cars! There will be Cash Prize Drawings + Best in Show and People’s Choice Awards.
The event is packed with fun for the whole family, with food, music, and entertainment available throughout the day. Proceeds to help support West Custer County Library’s Mobile Outreach Efforts.
Registration opens April 1st, 2026 with online or mail-in registration available here. Day-of show registration begins at 7:00 AM.

Solar Observing Sessions are always free of charge and require no reservation.  Safely enjoy views of solar flares, Sun spots, and other surface detail of the Sun through our dedicated hydrogen-alpha and white-light Solar Telescopes.  Experienced solar astronomers will be on hand to answer your questions and to help you identify the surface features of the Sun. Nine of our Solar Sessions coincide with the dates of free, public night-time sessions at the Smokey Jack Observatory. This provides an opportunity to observe the Sun, nebulae, galaxies, and star clusters all on the same day!

OPEN TO THE PUBLIC View deep space wonders using a camera mounted on our Smokey Jack Observatory telescope (known as Electronic Assisted Astronomy or EAA sessions). By stacking images taken by the camera and projecting the composite images onto an outdoor 10 foot screen, we are able to present deep-space images in a public viewing setting. Seating is limited. Join us as a vendor or a shopper at the Historic Beckwith Ranch Flea Market. If you feel the need to purge items such as dishes, clothing, furniture, tools, or collectibles, vendor spaces are available. We also welcome arts, crafts, and farm products.
Shoppers come for the market, the beautiful grounds, and tours of the mansion. Lunch service will be available for those wishing to picnic in the backyard. Funds collected from vendor rentals and lunch sales help support the preservation and educational programs of the Historic Beckwith Ranch.

This year’s Sangre de Cristo Trail Festival will take place over September 26-27 in Westcliffe. Distances include 8 miles, 27k, 50k, 50 miles, 100k, and 100 miles all along the Rainbow Trail on the eastern flank of the ominous yet stunning Sangre de Cristo Mountains.
